EquestrianLife.com at The 134th Preakness
The Preakness is an American Grade I stakes race covering 1-3/16 mile (1.91 km). This thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old horses is held on the third Saturday in May each year at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. Colts and geldings carry 126 pounds (57 kg); fillies 121 lb (55 kg). The Preakness Stakes has been termed "The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans" because a blanket of Black-eyed Susans, the state flower of Maryland, is traditionally placed around the winner's neck. I'd absolutely LOVE for Rachel Alexandra to beat all the boys. But, it'd be nice to see Mine That Bird again especially if he does as well as the Derby, what a fabulous ride.

My boy Pioneerof the Nile is my pick, but it is going to be a tough race if Mine That Bird runs his race again, and the filly Rachel Alexandra is a huge threat.

I'd love to see General Quarters win, but I'm going with Pioneerof The Nile as the most likely.
